US Capitol police arrest Bernard McCutcheon for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails

A person armed with two Molotov cocktails was arrested close to Union Station in Washington DC Wednesday afternoon after he threw one at officers as he tried to mild it, police stated.

Bernard McCutcheon, 26, was busted shortly after 3:30 p.m. after he tried to flee from two officers after tossing the crude system, according to the US Capitol Police.

The opposite Molotov cocktail, which he dropped, was a tequila bottle full of a sock and a petroleum-based accelerant, based on authorities.

Police don’t consider McCutcheon was concentrating on any congressperson or the US Capitol. He was additionally not concerned in any protest, police stated.

Two different bottles of liquid in his bookbag have been additionally recovered on the scene, police stated. The 2 Capitol Law enforcement officials have been handled for minor accidents.

“Fortunately they will be okay,” stated appearing Assistant Chief of Police for Uniformed Operations Sean Gallagher in an announcement. “We admire their fast motion that, indubitably, stored the group safer.”

McCutcheon, of Washington, DC, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, one depend of possession of a Molotov cocktail, and one depend of assault with a lethal weapon.
