Florida mom was speeding at 91 mph with 2 kids unrestrained in car

A Florida mother was caught dashing at 91 mph Tuesday — along with her toddlers unrestrained within the automobile, cops stated.

Carolyn Poitier, 25, from Leesburg was booked into the Volusia County Jail on expenses of kid neglect and possession of a managed substance. She was launched fewer than 12 hours later after posting bonds totaling $5,000.

In response to a press release from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Workplace, Poitier was pulled over by deputies round 12:30 a.m. for doing 91 mph in a 50 mph zone on Worldwide Speedway Boulevard in DeLand.

“Two kids, ages 2 and three, have been asleep with out automobile seats in the back and front passenger seats,” the company acknowledged.

When deputies later identified to Poitier that had she crashed on the pace she was touring, she and the kids probably would have been killed, the mother allegedly retorted “she didn’t plan on getting right into a crash.”

Poitier instructed the deputies that she was driving from Leesburg to Daytona Seashore and left the kids’s automobile seats in one other car at dwelling “as a result of she didn’t need to strap them in whereas they have been sleeping.” Poitier was not carrying a seatbelt, both, in response to the sheriff’s workplace.

Images that have been taken by the arresting deputies and launched by the sheriff’s workplace confirmed one of many kids curled up within the entrance passenger seat and the opposite napping within the again seat.

One other grownup later arrived on the scene with automobile seats and took Poitier’s kids dwelling.

A search of Poitier’s automobile turned up drugs that have been later recognized because the narcotic painkiller Tramadol, in response to the sheriff’s workplace.
