Star Trek actress Nichelle Nichols dead at 89

Groundbreaking TV actress Nichelle Nichols, who famously portrayed Lt. Nyota Uhura on the unique “Star Trek” sequence, has died at 89.

Her household introduced Sunday on Nichols’ Fb web page that she died from pure causes.

“Final night time, my mom, Nichelle Nichols, succumbed to pure causes and handed away. Her gentle nevertheless, like the traditional galaxies now being seen for the primary time, will stay for us and future generations to get pleasure from, study from, and draw inspiration,” her son Kyle Johnson wrote.
